Dutch police use hologram in bid to solve cold case murder of Amsterdam sex worker

The Dutch police have taken an innovative approach to solving a cold case involving the murder of a sex worker in Amsterdam by using hologram technology. They’re using the hologram to recreate the scene of the crime and gain attention in the hope to find new leads about the case.

The murder of the Amsterdam-based sex worker, that remains unsolved for many years, has been brought back into the public view with the help of this technology. The hologram displays a representation of the victim, which is hoped to generate new leads or prompt potential witnesses to come forward.

The unusual use of holographic imagery for such purposes demonstrates a rising trend in law enforcement bodies using advanced technologies such as augmented and virtual reality, facial recognition, and now holography, to help in their investigations.

This initiative by the Dutch police is yet another example of how technology is being leveraged to aid in criminal investigations, putting cold cases back under the public eye and hopefully resulting in the victim receiving the justice they deserve.
