Brazilian police have arrested a woman suspected of fraud after she allegedly brought a dead man to a bank to apply for a loan. The 58-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was accompanied by a 92-year-old man who police suspect was deceased at the time of the bank visit. The woman is suspected of having used a wheelchair to transport the dead man to the bank, where she allegedly posed as his spouse in an attempt to secure the loan. The bank staff became suspicious due to the man’s lack of engagement and interaction during the meeting. An autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact time and cause of death. The woman is currently in police custody under suspicion of fraud and desecration of a corpse.
