At a growing list of airports, TSA PreCheck travelers no longer have to show physical IDs or boarding passes

That’s right! The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) has been implementing a new system known as CAT-BP (Credential Authentication Technology – Boarding Pass) scanning system. With this, TSA PreCheck travelers may no longer need to show their physical IDs or boarding passes during the security process in some airports.

The system essentially scans a passenger’s face and matches it to the image on their ID such as a driver’s license or passport. It also verifies their flight information in real time. However, passengers are still required to have their ID and boarding pass with them in case issues arise. Please be aware that this system is not yet in place at all airports, and requirements may vary depending on location and specific security regulations.
